Sagrado Coração da Terra
Sagrado Coração da Terra (translates Sacred Heart of Earth) is a Brazilian progressive rock band, formed in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1979 by violinist Marcus Viana after the demise of the group Saecula Saeculorum. Their sound is a blend of classical music, rock, popular Brazilian music and african-amerindian traditions; their lyrics often verses about ecology and spiritual matters.
Their first album was released in 1985; since then, they released 3 more studio albums until 1994, when the band's activities were put on hold. In the year 2000 the group was reformed and released another studio album; after that, 3 compilations and a live DVD were also released. After all these years, Sagrado's lineup has gone through several changes, with Marcus Viana being the only constant member.
